Meet us on location at the Napolitano Family Farm in Brentwood to help the farmers with various tasks. (2 hours per session)
Important Information:
Volunteers MUST respond/signup for this opportunity. No walk-ins will be allowed. (There is a maximum of 6 participants per session.)
A waiver is required to be signed by a parent/caregiver. You can view or print the waiver here. The farm staff will be collecting the waivers on-site. Please hold onto your signed waiver or fill one out on-site. We will have extra blank waivers available at the farm.
This event is being held at the Napolitano Family Farm which is located at 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY but we will be meeting at the side entrance to the farm. If you are using GPS, enter the address 104 Second Ave, Brentwood, NY. (The entrance is at the intersection of Springfield Rd. and Second Ave.)
The shift begins at 10:00am. Please arrive no earlier than 9:45am and no later than 10:15am. (Parents/caregivers may stay or the volunteer can be dropped off and picked up.)
The shift ends at 12:00pm. Volunteers must be picked up at the original meeting space no later than 12:15pm.
Activities may include: weeding, planting, general cleanup, and possibly harvesting. Due to the nature of farm work and the possibility of bug/ticks, please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops) and long pants. You may also want to consider wearing a hat or head-covering, and using sunscreen and bug spray. The farm will provide us with gloves, but if you have a pair of gardening gloves you like, you can bring them.
Please bring your own water (and snacks if you wish).
If it rains, the volunteer event will be cancelled.
